Outdoor adventure activities in the Tarn Gorge
La Barbote (Le Rozier / Mostuéjouls) is ideally situated for an introduction to canoeing or kayaking, with ahalf mile stretch of water that offers the possibility of a totally safe initiation in the numerous aquatic activities of the Tarn. Close to the beach, a shaded picnic area enables families and holidaymakers of all ages to benefit from the peace and tranquillity of the environment.
La Barbote is open from the beginning April through to the end of September :
During the high season (June – July – August), the aquatic recreation centre (Aveyron – France) is open everyday from 9 AM until 6:30 PM. During this season, our staff will orient and advise you according to your level of competence in several languages including english, spanish, and french.
During the low season (April - May - September), please contact-us to book.
Whatever the season, our staff will be delighted to welcome you to this breathtaking natural environment (The Tarn Gorge, The Grands Causses Natural Regional Park, and The Cevennes National Park are classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites since 2011.)
In the Gorges du Tarn, between Aveyron (12) and Lozère (48), canoeing or kayaking is very popular. The landscape is stunningly beautiful and canoeing down the Tarn river in is a real pleasure. Several water trails are available for both children and adults: from the easy descent for beginners to the exciting and exhilarating descent for specialists.
